So here we are guys, weeks of agonising over Premiership players past and present have led us to our final XI's. Thousands of Premier league players have been whittled down to just 176 to play a role in your draft teams.
For a reminder of the final teams for all 16 participants, see this link: ( itwasrivetingitwasruthlessitwasrivaldo.wordpress.com/2012/12/22/premier-league-draft-game-choosing-your-players/#comment-24 )
Or alternatively, below:
What happens next i hear you ask?
Well, i've now posted confirmation on Twitter about the time of the 1st knockout round draw. This will commence on Wednesday 16th January 2013 @ 10:15pm G.M.T.
The draw will be done randomly, via the picking of names out of a hat method, with the results being posted on this very thread shortly after.
Once the 16 players are all aware of whom they're facing in the first round, they can start preparing their tactics. This should be in the form of words, and needn't be more than 1 or 2 paragraphs. For an example of the tactics, see this thread:
( pldraftgame.freeforums.net/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1&page=1 )
As you can also see from the above link, both teams have also posted their player bio's for each member of their XI. This should be something you're working on currently, and once again, needn't be more than 2 or 3 lines.
The player bios and tactics, once done, can be emailed to me (doublegwdemi@hotmail.co.uk) or tweeted ( demil1990). If this isn't convenient, then participants are free to post them on this current thread after the draw, for me to then copy and paste them when making the match threads.
Another point to note is that, you can use www.footballuser.com/ OR this11.com/ to draw a formation for your team, which shall again be used when writing up the match threads. For an example of this, see the 'Testing; A vs B' thread.
In terms of voting, this is done by logging on, going to the specific match thread you're voting on and clicking on one of the 2 teams on the poll. Voters MUST give justifications for their choices and these should be posted on the match threads themselves.
If somebody has voted, but not given their reasons, or if a random person has given their reasons on the thread, but not voted on the poll, then that vote will be discarded when totting up the final results.
Once the poll expires, results of the votes for each match will be known, and the winners will advance to the quarter final stages, and then the semi's etc.
N.B.
- When an opponent is beaten, they are still required to take part in the game and vote on the other matches in the later rounds, for the sake of fairness.
- When a team beats their opponent, they then have the privilege of
choosing a player from their beaten opponent's team and swapping for one of theirs, to make their team potentially stronger overall in the next round. When doing this, the 3 man club rule must be adhered too.
I think that's everything covered now. I know it's a bit of a mouthful, but i think with everyone's participation and willingness to follow the instructions, this should make for a fun game for all concerned.
Draw for the 1st knockout round:
