Tim Flowers - Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper during their title win, and was in the PFA Team of the Year in consecutive seasons in 93-94 and 94-95. Would have had a lot more caps for England if not for David Seaman. Safe hands in goal!
Lauren - one of the Invincibles in my defence. Very good full back was in the PFA Team of the Year of 2004 for his feats with the Invincibles. He was excellent defensively, though not as impressive going forward which will add balance to my team.
R.Ferdinand - One of the premiership’s best defenders and was arguably the best player in his position between 2006 and 2008. This led to him being named in the FIFA World XI in 2007-2008. He also won the Premier League 5 times, one Champions League and Football League cup twice. A very consistent player who also has over 280 appearances for Manchester United and 81 appearances for England. He is also in the FA Premier league PFA team of the year 5 times ( once with Leeds).
Sol Campbell - One of the best center backs to have ever played in the premier league. Quick, strong, athletic - he had everything in his locker. Best known for being a very important (and best defender) of the Arsenal Invincibles in 2003-04. He was also an excellent defender for Spurs during the 90s and was tracked by a lot of top clubs including Manchester United before deciding to move to Arsenal. 2 times winner of the premier league and was in the PFA team of the year 3 times.
Baines - PFA team of the year for 2011/12. Was the best full back in the league that season. Very good left back who's also got a very sweet left foot so will also come handy further up the pitch with his excellent crossing ability and brilliant set pieces.
Keane (C) - At his best the best box-to-box midfielder to have played in the Premier League. He'll dominate the area between the two penalty boxes like no other midfielder can. Would never lose a head-to-head against another midfielder and has that ability to inspire everyone around him and just win a game on sheer will power. That doesn't mean that he wasn't a good footballer - he was a brilliant footballer (something I think he's not given enough credit for - he was NOT a defensive midfielder) - there's a reason Brian Clough, Kenny Dalglish and SAF all wanted him at their clubs. PFA Player of the Year & FWA Player of the Year in 2000. Also in the PFA Team of the Year in 1992–93, 1996–97, 1999–2000, 2000–01 and 2001–02. Most successful Manchester United captain of all time.
Essien - Closest player to Keane the Premier League has seen. Another brilliant box-to-box midfielder who's just as good off the ball as he is with it. Will drive my team forward at all opportunities with Keane and also help control/dominate the centre of the park. Was Chelsea's player of the year in 2007 - a year featured in seasons that Chelsea were runners up in the Premier League twice, CL finalists, League Cup finalists and FA Cup winners.
McManaman - The player with the second highest assists per game ratio in the Premier after David Beckham. A truly excellent winger who'll torment any fullback he's up against with his mazy runs and excellent delivery in to the box. 112 assists and 46 goals according to Wikipedia during his time with Liverpool in the league (this includes the old first division). Was in the PFA Team of the Year for 4 consecutive seasons (94-95, 95-96, 96-97 and 97-98).
Le Tissier - A magician with the ball at his feat, one of the most technically gifted English footballers to have played the game. He was also the first midfielder in the premier league to score 100 goals. He'll provide the perfect link between my central midfield and my attack, and at the same time offer a great goal scoring threat. He scored 25 premier league goals in 93-94 and the following season he scored 20 goals, again just highlighting his goal scoring threat matched with his playmaking talent.
Robert Pires – Invincible. Pires was perhaps the main creative force of Arsenal's greatest side. A remarkably intelligent player who possessed great technique, he offered a regular goal threat too. Was in the the PFA Team of the Year for 3 consecutive seasons - in 01-02, 02-03 and 03-04. Was also the FWA Player of the year in 01-02.
Aguero - 23 goals and 10 assists in 34 games in the Premier League last season. A cool and calm finisher who'll put the ball in the back of the net in any high pressure situation - which showed in his last minute winner to clinch the premier league title for Manchester City last season. He'll link up with Le Tissier extremely well who'll always be looking to put him through on goal.

Tactics:
• REMEMBER - It's my attack vs his defence, and his attack vs my defence. It's not attack vs attack, and defence vs defence.
• On this point I believe my defensive unit is significantly stronger. I have 4 genuinely class defenders who are all playing in their best positions. I also have two invincibles in there.
• Each of my defenders has been in the PFA Team of the Year, and were comfortably the best players in the league in their position for at least a season. This is also true for all of my players apart from Aguero who was pretty close.
• B has Ivanovic in CB which is a position which he hasn't really played much in the PL, and facing up to players like Pires, McManaman, Le Tissier and Aguero he'll surely get exposed.
• Kelly wasn't really good enough as a defender to ever stop Pires on his own. I believe he was known more for his attacking and a player like Pires will surely expose that.
• His two center backs are both more brute type defenders. They'll thrive when the ball is pumped into the box clearing everything, but my attack is not based on that. The vision, trickery and pace along my front line is what'll make them struggle.
• Both of my center backs complement each other very well. Rio has the pace to keep nearly everyone in check, and Sol was pretty quick himself when he got going. Also Rio at his best was better than either of his CBs, and Sol was at the same level at Vidic.
• I believe my goalkeeper is better. Flowers was twice in the PFA Team of the Year in the era of Schmeichel and Seaman, and Lehmann hasn't won this. Lehmann's also more likely to make a mistake.
• Our midfields are both fairly balanced. Keane and Essien up against Alonso, Viera and Song. Song is not in the same class as the other two midfielders involved, but I believe both of my midfielders are stronger defensively and are more explosive. My midfield is also more physical with Song and Alonso not being very physical at all, and Viera himself didn't usually get into a battle that often.
• Key advantage for my midfield and attack is that I have a genuine link between attack and midfield all over the pitch. In the center Le Tissier can drop deep to start attacks, and McManaman and Pires are also excellent in that role with their vision and passing. B lacks this without any attacking midfielder, and relies more on individual genius. By asking Henry, Ronaldo or Torres drop deep your losing their best attribute which is to run in behind or run at a slightly disorganised defence.
• Admittedly he's got better strikers than me, but Henry's really not playing his best position. Plus there's a serious lack of creativity for them, and they'll be completely reliant on creating their own chances.
• I believe I have more of a team with each player fitting exactly in to the system, giving me a better balance. I think B's is more of a group of individuals which is quite unbalanced.

Bio:
Jens Lehmann - 148 league appearances and 61 caps with Germany, Lehmann was a reliable shot stopper that had success throughout his career. He was solid all season during Arsenal's Invincibles season, conceding just 26 times. Named Best Goalkeeper in 05/06 and twice winner of the UEFA Goalkeeper of the year, Lehmann won the Premier League and FA Cup, and came runner-up in the World Cup and the Champions League in his time at Arsenal.
Gary Kelly - Very reliable right back that played 531 times for Leeds United and 51 times for Ireland. He was named in the Premier League Team of the Season in 93/94 and was able to play at either right-back or as a right winger. He will be more thancapable of covering for Ronaldo on the right.
Nemanja Vidic - What needs to be said? Extremely solid centre-back that has been widely regarded as the best in the world over the last few years. He has collected a host of honours in his United career, including 3 consecutive Premier League titles (4 titles in total), the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA World Club Cup, three League Cup medals, as well as being included in three consecutive (4 in total) PFA Team of the Year sides from 2007 to 2009. In the 2008–09 season, he helped United to a record-breaking run of 14 consecutive clean sheets and was awarded the Barclays Player of the Season (twice in total). He also collected both the club's Fans' and Players' Player of the Year awards. Captain of the team for obvious reasons.
Branislov Ivanovic - Another solid defender, he forms a Serbian core at the back with Vidic. With a Premier League title, Champions League medal, 3 FA Cup wins and part of the 09-10 PFA Team of the Season, Ivanovic has proved his worth at the top level. Equally adept at playing centre-back or right back, his versatility and consistency seals his place in the team.
Dennis Irwin - One of the most important players in the United team that won a host of domestic and European trophies, he has been regarded by Alex Ferguson as pound for pound his greatest ever signing. Over his United career, he won an incredible 7 Premier League titles, 3 FA Cup medals, a League Cup and a Champions League medal, as well as a host of other trophies.
Alex Song - With his tireless runs in midfield and good reading of oppositions' attacks, he plays a key role in breaking up opponents' attacks, shielding the ball when in possession, and then setting up counterattacks for his teammates. With 143 appearances for Arsenal and 34 caps, he forms a reliable base in midfield with Alonso to give the forwards free licence to attack.
Xabi Alonso - One of the best deep lying playmakers in the world over the last decade, and with a stuffed trophy cabinet, Alonso is one of the stars of the team. By both protecting the defence and launching new attacks with his incredible long-range passing, he allows those around him to play better. During his Liverpool career he won the Champions League, FA Cup and Euro 2008.
Cristiano Ronaldo - What needs to be said? The man is a footballing machine, and has the talent to do pretty much anything with a ball. During his time at United, he evolved into a consistent goal scorer and won the Ballon d'Or in 2008, during which he scored 31 in 34 league games. He was also named in the last 5 world teams of the year. In addition, he has won the Premier League 3 times, the Champions League and 5 other cups with United. Finally, he swept the Premier League individual awards from 06-08.
Thierry Henry – Another incredible player, the Frenchman was at his best at Highbury, bagging 226 goals and 92 assists in just 369 games. In England, he won 2 League titles, 3 FA Cups and was named in 6 consecutive team of the years. Henry is widely renowned as one of the greatest strikers of modern times and will fit perfectly into my front line.
Patrick Vieira - One of, if not the best, box-box midfielder during the Premier League era, Vieira was strong in the tackle, great at distributing the ball and an amazing controller of the game. He was the core of the Invincibles season and won 3 league titles and 5 FA Cups in his time in England. He was also named in 6 consecutive Team of the Seasons and has won both the World Cup and Euros with France.
Fernando Torres - During his time at Liverpool, Torres became a Kop legend as he consistently showed he was one of the best strikers in the world. Whilst in the Premier League, Torres has won the 2010 World Cup and the 2008 and 2012 Euros with Spain, the Champions League, and the FA Cup, as well as being named in two World XI’s, coming third in the 2008 Balon D’Or and twice being named in the Premier League Team of the Year. At his peak during his time with Liverpool, he scored 65 goals in 102 Prem games, with his best season coming in 07-08 when he scored 33 in 42 games in all competitions. At his peak he was a world-class striker that was quick, strong, impressive in the air, blessed with expert technique and is cool and collected in front of goal.

Tactics:
My midfield trio should be able to control this game as they are all strong, well-rounded players that are used to three in the middle. This will provide my front line with plenty of chances and time on the ball for them to work the magic they are known for. Speaking of the forwards, they will each have free roles along the top, as all three are more than capable of adapting. A has his own great front line, so in response my entire back four will be on lockdown. All three in the middle will also be called on to defend in order to protect the backline, especially Alonso, although the forwards will constantly be up top in order to hit A hard on the counter. Set pieces should be mine in this too, with the likes of Vidic, Ivanovic and Ronaldo only really matched by Campbell in A's team.
